Signs of rosacea

Rosacea (roe-ZAY-she-uh) is a common skin condition that usually affects the face and causes abnormal flushing, vascular damage and pimples. About 415 million people in the world have rosacea, yet 95% of them don’t realize it until they’re diagnosed. That’s because people get rosacea confused with acne, erythema or sensitive skin.

You can tell you have rosacea when your face:

• Flushes easily

• Stays red for up to several weeks

• Has red or pus-filled bumps

• Feels oily and rough

• Has red lines or splotches (vascular damage)

You won’t see blackheads or whiteheads like you would with acne. If you think you have rosacea, talk to a dermatologist. An esthetician can then help you manage your symptoms so you feel comfortable and confident in your skin.
